Norm Groups
The norm group is the comparison group against which any individual, team or organisation is compared, sometimes referred to as the “population”.
For Organisational Transitions Inventory© there are: General (all multi-national), service industry and non-service industry norm bases.
There needs to be a minimum of circa 1500 bodies from a cross-section of organisations to produce a reliable sector norm.
For teams and individuals there needs to be a minimum of 50 for organisational norms, 1000 if creating national norms or 100 for sector norms.
N.B. for the Organisational Transitions Inventory©, sector norms we still need 1000 minimum. Other diagnostics use general norms i.e. all sectors. Managing Performance and Team Leader Competencies© also use organisational norms.
